Location: London, 3 days per week in the office

Salary: £90,000 - £105,000 + Bonus & Benefits


We are supporting an established global (re)insurance organisation seeking a Senior Catastrophe Modelling Analyst to join its Exposure Management team. This role plays a critical part in assessing, modelling and reporting catastrophe risk to support underwriting, capital management and strategic decision-making.


The Role

You will lead and deliver advanced catastrophe modelling and portfolio analytics across reinsurance classes, supporting underwriters and senior stakeholders with high-quality insights.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading key modelling workstreams (e.g. Portfolio aggregation, regulatory returns, business planning, event response)
  • Performing and reviewing exposure capture, pricing analysis, and portfolio risk modelling
  • Providing oversight and peer review of modelling outputs
  • Delivering portfolio optimisation insights and identifying data trends or anomalies
  • Supporting business planning, governance, and regulatory reporting
  • Building strong relationships with underwriting, pricing, claims, and risk teams
  • Mentoring and developing junior analysts


Requirements

  • Significant experience in Exposure Management / Catastrophe Modelling within (re)insurance
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance structures, underwriting processes, and portfolio performance
  • Experience working within the Lloyd’s or global specialty market
  • Advanced knowledge of RMS (RiskLink/Risk Manager), AIR Touchstone/Touchstone Re or similar vendor models
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with Power BI preferred
  • Solid SQL skills; R and/or Python advantageous
  • Strong data management and quantitative reporting capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
