Technical Engineer – EV Charging Infrastructure

Location: UK – Midlands to the South of England ideal locations

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: £58,000 - £65,000 (DOE) + Car Allowance £400.00 per month + Benefits + 25 Days Holiday


The Opportunity:


We are working with a rapidly growing EV charging infrastructure company delivering medium to large-scale charging projects across commercial and public environments. They are seeking a Technical Engineer with strong experience across EV hardware, DC charging systems, installation, and operations.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical ownership across DC EV charging projects, from installation through to commissioning and operations
  • Support site surveys, technical design reviews, and installation planning
  • Act as the technical point of contact for installers, contractors, and internal teams
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and operational issues across live sites
  • Support O&M activities, fault diagnostics, and performance optimisation
  • Ensure installations meet technical standards, safety requirements, and grid compliance
  • Manage multiple projects in parallel, balancing timelines, quality, and cost


Candidate Profile:


  • Proven experience as a Technical Engineer / Field Engineer within EV charging infrastructure
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of DC fast and ultra-fast charging systems
  • Solid background in EV hardware, installation, and operational support
  • Experience delivering medium to large-scale EV charging projects
  • Comfortable working across installation, commissioning, and live operational environments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-led approach
  • Able to manage multiple workstreams in a dynamic, scaling business


Technical Skills & Experience:


  • DC chargers (fast / ultra-fast)
  • Power electronics, switchgear, and protection systems
  • Installation standards, commissioning, and testing
  • Diagnostics, fault finding, and O&M support
  • Working knowledge of grid connections and site constraints (advantageous)
