Senior Claims Adjuster – Marine

We’re looking for an experienced Marine Claims Adjuster who thrives on complexity, takes real ownership of outcomes, and is confident acting as a technical authority within the business. This is a senior, visible role combining hands-on claims handling with leadership, collaboration, and strategic input across a global portfolio.

You’ll manage high-value and sensitive claims across a broad marine book, including Marine Liability, Hull & Machinery, Cargo, Specie, and onshore and offshore upstream Energy, working closely with underwriters, actuaries, and other key stakeholders to drive the right commercial and technical outcomes.

What you’ll do

• Handle complex marine claims end-to-end within agreed authority across a global portfolio
• Act as a technical referral point and mentor for less experienced claims professionals
• Drive accurate reserving, payments, and high-quality reporting on significant losses
• Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, finance, legal, and analytics teams to support portfolio performance
• Provide oversight of third-party service providers and support internal and external audits
• Represent the business in client, broker, and market discussions where required

• Strong technical marine claims expertise across multiple lines
• Deep understanding of policy wordings, legal principles, and London market practice
• Proven experience managing large, complex, or sensitive losses
• Clear, confident communicator with credibility across internal and external stakeholders

• A pragmatic, decisive approach and the confidence to lead by example
