Practice Manager sought for Distinctive Architecture Studio
£50,000-£60,000 p.a.
Full-time, Central London
An award-winning architecture studio of around 70 people, specialising in residential and workplace design, is looking for a proactive Office & Operations Manager to oversee studio operations. Reporting directly to the Directors, this pivotal role ensures the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, supports a positive and engaged culture, and provides oversight across compliance, HR, IT, finance, and facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Line manage the Receptionist and CPD Coordinator, and oversee onboarding, recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, and performance reviews
- Manage facilities, landlord relationships, office standards, and general administrative functions
- Support social value initiatives, EDI reporting, and visa compliance
- Plan and deliver annual studio events and staff engagement activities
- Act as the primary liaison for IT partners, oversee infrastructure and software systems, and provide day-to-day office IT support
- Process staff expenses, and provide light PA support to the Directors
About you
- Demonstrated experience in Practice Management or Operations within architecture, design, or the wider built environment
- Confident managing complex operational processes, IT systems, and workplace technology
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and numerate, with strong communication skills
- Able to manage sensitive information with discretion and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
