Quantity Surveyor – Residential Groundworks

Permanent Role

£50m Turnover Contractor


We are currently working on behalf of a well-established £80m turnover residential groundworks contractor who, due to continued growth and a strong secured workload, are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in the Lincolnshire


This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong Senior QS to take a leading role on major residential groundworks and infrastructure packages, working closely with operational and senior management teams.


The Role

You will take full commercial responsibility for one or more residential groundworks projects, overseeing cost control, subcontractor management, and commercial reporting, while also supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the commercial management of residential groundworks projects
  • Preparing and agreeing interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Managing cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control
  • Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Working closely with site and operational teams to ensure cost control
  • Providing commercial input to senior management
  • Supporting and mentoring Quantity Surveyors and Assistant QSs


Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks or civil engineering
  • Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and account management
  • Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)
