Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for residential/commercial construction projects. The Estimator will analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine material, labor, and overall project costs while ensuring competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and BOQs
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs
- Estimate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Request and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations
- Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams
- Maintain cost databases and historical records
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits
- Ensure estimates comply with company standards and client requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management (preferred)
- 3–8 years of experience in construction estimation
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials
- Experience in residential/commercial/infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in:
- MS Excel
- AutoCAD (basic understanding)
- Estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, CostX – if applicable)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
