Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrician specialising in Solar PV and Battery Storage installation to join our dynamic team. Due to our continued growth of our company Solareon UK, we are looking for a Solar PV & Battery Installer to lead our installation department, covering both domestic and commercial renewable energy projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, hands-on professional who is ready to take ownership and grow into a leadership position within a fast-growing company.


Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery storage systems in accordance with technical drawings and safety regulations
  • Producing all relevant paperwork, including EIC, G99, DNO, PV array reports and BC notifications
  • Conduct electrical wiring, cabling, and connection of solar components using hand tools and power tools
  • Lead and coordinate teams of sub-contractors, ensuring the installation work aligns with project timelines, company policies, and strict Health & Safety regulations for solar PV and battery storage projects
  • Raise all quotes for domestic and commercial solar PV and battery installations in a timely manner, also with the help of the Operations Director
  • Communicate directly with clients, providing guidance and updates throughout the installation process
  • Operate heavy machinery such as excavators when required for site preparation or system installation
  • Perform welding tasks where necessary to secure structural components or electrical enclosures
  • Carry out system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of installed systems
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used on each project site
  • Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols throughout all phases of installation
  • Must be willing to work away from home due to the locations of the projects, if there is any doubt at all please do not apply


Qualifications - Desirable

  • Level 3 Award in Installation of PV Systems would be beneficial
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulation preferred
  • Approved Electrician status preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a qualified electrician
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Right to work in the UK


Experience & Skills

  • Experience as an electrician with a strong background in electrical systems installation and maintenance
  • Prior experience working and installing Solar PV systems and battery storage
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
  • Mechanical knowledge relevant to structural supports, mounting systems, and system integration
  • Demonstrated welding skills are advantageous but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices within the renewable energy sector is required
  • Solar PV installation experience
  • Battery storage systems
  • EV charging installations (domestic and/or commercial)
  • Experience with Open Solar or similar solar pv software is desirable
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and proactive in identifying opportunities.

This role will develop into the Solar Project Manager position within the next 6–12 months. You will work closely with the Operations Director and play a key role in shaping and growing the installation department.
