The Role

- Manage mechanical design activities including materials selection, manufacturing methods, and Design for Manufacture / Assembly (DfM/DfA).
- Produce and oversee full drawing packs, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and technical documentation, supporting SAP and compliance needs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.
- Work closely with Innovation, R&D, and Manufacturing teams to translate concepts into robust, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement, lean engineering principles, and best practice across the engineering function.
About You
The successful Engineering Manager will bring:
- Proven experience in an engineering design, NPD, or innovation-driven environment.
- Strong people leadership and line management experience.
- Extensive CAD capability (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar), including sheet metal design.
- A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier engagement, and lean engineering principles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across multiple departments.
What’s on Offer
- Hybrid working and flexible hours.
- The opportunity to work on technically interesting, bespoke engineering projects.
- A supportive and professional culture that values innovation and continuous improvement.
- Long-term career development within a market-leading engineering organisation.
