Project Manager – Health / Life Sciences (Construction)

Location: London (Hybrid, 2–3 days per week onsite)

Type: Full-time

Salary: £60,000–£75,000 (+benefits)


About the Role

Sentinel is partnering with a leading construction and programme management consultancy, recognised for delivering technically complex and high-value projects across healthcare and life sciences sectors. We are seeking experienced Project Managers to join their London-based team, contributing to a portfolio of capital programmes across hospitals, laboratories, production facilities, and specialist operational estates.

The role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within live operational environments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and sector specialists. The consultancy is known for a strong focus on career development, structured learning opportunities, and exposure to projects both nationally and internationally.


Key Responsibilities

You will play a central role in delivering construction projects across the full project lifecycle - from early feasibility and business case development through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.


Projects may include:

  • Hospital redevelopment, refurbishment, and expansion programmes
  • Laboratory and production facility fit-outs and upgrades
  • New-build clinical facilities and specialist operational spaces
  • Multi-phased capital works programmes delivered under operational constraints


Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading project delivery across all project phases, ensuring programme, cost, and quality objectives are met
  • Acting as a key interface between clients, design teams, contractors, and specialist consultants
  • Managing governance, risk registers, change control, and commercial performance
  • Overseeing procurement strategies, contract administration (including NEC contracts), and reporting processes
  • Coordinating works within live operational environments while maintaining business continuity
  • Mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture


Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience delivering healthcare or life sciences/pharmaceutical projects in the UK
  • Consultancy-side background or similar commercial experience
  • Strong understanding of project controls, risk management, and commercial governance
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Knowledge of modern construction trends, such as MMC, Net Zero Carbon, and digital transformation, is desirable
  • Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards membership
