An established UK law firm is seeking an Employment Associate to join its growing team. This role offers a broad mix of contentious, advisory, corporate support, and investigation work, with strong exposure to high‑quality clients across both the public and private sectors. Responsibilities:
- Advising a broad client base including company owners, HR professionals, in-house counsel, senior employees, and public and private sector organisations
- Handling the full spectrum of employment law matters, including:
- Drafting employment documentation
- Advising on employee relations issues (disciplinaries, grievances, performance)
- Managing Employment Tribunal claims, including whistleblowing and discrimination cases
- Advising on dismissals, redundancies, and restructures
- Supporting corporate transactions including TUPE
- Conducting or supporting internal investigations
- Building and maintaining client relationships
- Collaborating with colleagues across departments
- Supporting business development initiatives
Candidate Profile
Essential requirements:
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent, ideally 1–4 PQE
- Experience across contentious, non‑contentious, and transactional employment matters
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and deliver practical, commercial advice
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively
Desirable attributes:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Understanding of client expectations and relationship management
- Adaptability and willingness to work flexibly when required
