Health & Safety Advisor

My client is a tier 1, leading, civil engineering contractor who work on civils infrastructure projects in Europe and UK wide. They are looking to permanently appoint an experienced, driven Health and Safety Advisor. This will be to oversee some of the largest civil infrastructure projects in the UK, traditionally ranging in value up to £600M. Majority of works include, highways, rail, aviation and tunnelling and heavy infrastructure schemes.

The role of Health & Safety Advisor

Reporting into the Head of Health & Safety and working heavily alongside the Quality Assurance team, Training Coordinator and Site Teams. You will be based in the head office with the requirement of occasional site visits.

Responsibilities for Health & Safety Advisor

This Health & Safety Advisor role will include regular liaison with subcontractors and clients to ensure they are following the correct business procedure. Enforce and roll out Health & Safety management standards and systems, alongside informing legislation changes and business development & strategy. Whilst promoting and providing training for new and existing Health & Safety campaigns. You will provide appropriate information, support, assurance and challenge to Project teams to help achieve the companies requirements and drive continual improvement.

As Health & Safety Advisor your number one priority is to ensure the sites you are working alongside are operating in alliance with the existing Health & Safety standards.

Requirements for Health & Safety Advisor

You will be an experienced Health & Safety Advisor with previous involvement within the construction/ civil engineering sector. Former experience working within the civils sector would be advantageous. Key attributes will include industry knowledge, legislation awareness, and ability to effectively communicate with individuals of a ranging hierarchy. Being a member of IOSH is essential.
