W&I Underwriter // Spanish Speaker

Job description

We are working with a leading transactional risk insurance platform to appoint a Warranty & Indemnity (W&I) Underwriter with Spanish language capability, supporting private equity and corporate M&A transactions across Spain and the wider European market. This role offers direct exposure to cross-border European transactions and close collaboration with sponsors, corporates, law firms, and brokers on complex deals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting W&I insurance policies across buy-side and sell-side transactions throughout Europe. This includes reviewing transaction documentation, assessing legal and commercial risk, structuring policy terms, and pricing risk appropriately. You will work closely with brokers and insureds during live deal processes, participate in client and advisor calls (including in Spanish where required), review due diligence materials, and negotiate coverage positions in fast-moving transactional environments.

Candidates are likely to come from a background in W&I underwriting, transactional risk, M&A insurance, or corporate/M&A law with a strong interest in underwriting. A solid understanding of M&A transactions and sale documentation is essential, along with the ability to assess risk pragmatically and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders. Fluency in Spanish is essential, as you will operate confidently in Spanish-language deal discussions, alongside full professional fluency in English.
