JOB TITLE: Sales development manager
PLACE OF WORK: Newcastle upon tyne
SALARIED: Monthly Salary + commission
REPORTS TO: Managing Director
THE ROLE:
Lead and scale a sales development team, develop outbound strategy, grow market penetration of our extensive range of specialist door products into markets around the uk.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, coach, and mentor the SDR team to achieve pipeline targets
- Set and monitor KPIs (calls, emails, meetings booked, SQLs, conversion rates)
- To research and analyse local market opportunities and provide a formal sales plan for discussion with management in line with agreed and developing strategies to attack the market for the best result.
- Develop and execute outbound and inbound prospecting strategies
- Ensure accurate CRM management
- Forecast pipeline contribution and report performance metrics
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new SDRs
- Align closely with Marketing to optimize lead quality and campaign effectiveness
- Improve sales messaging, outreach cadences, and targeting strategies
- Implement performance improvement plans where necessary
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- 5+ years B2B sales experience
- Minimum 2 years managing SDR/BDR teams
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding pipeline targets
- Strong understanding of sales funnel metrics and reporting
- Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools
Desirable:
- Experience scaling a team in a growth-stage company
- Formal sales training or leadership certification
