Sales Manager – Electrical & Lighting Products (M&E Contractors & Consultants)

Location: South of England / M25 Corridor (Home-Based)

Package: Up to £80,000 Basic plus 20% bonus

Benefits: Company car (choice) or car allowance, 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays, pension

The Role

We are a well-established electrical distributor seeking an experienced Sales Manager with a strong electrical and lighting specification background to drive growth across the South of England, with a particular focus on the M25 corridor.

This role combines account management and new business development, working closely with M&E contractors, consultants, and end users to secure projects from early design stage through to installation. A significant element of the role involves lighting solutions, including specification-led sales, project support, and value engineering across commercial, industrial, datacentre, nuclear, and large construction projects.

This is a home-based position offering autonomy, territory ownership, and the opportunity to represent a respected and growing name in the electrical and lighting supply market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop an established portfolio of M&E contractor and consultant accounts
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities on major projects
  • Drive lighting specification opportunities, influencing design teams and consultants
  • Promote a broad range of electrical and lighting products, including controls and project solutions
  • Work on projects from concept and specification through to delivery and completion
  • Conduct client meetings, CPD-style presentations, site visits, and project reviews
  • Collaborate with internal technical, lighting design, and customer service teams
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales and margin targets

About You

You will be a commercially driven sales professional with strong industry knowledge and relationships. You will have:

  • Experience with an electrical distributor or manufacturer
  • Proven lighting specification sales experience
  • Established relationships with M&E contractors and consultants across the South / M25 region
  • A track record of winning and managing project-based business
  • Experience selling into commercial, industrial, datacentre, nuclear, or construction sectors
  • Strong communication, influencing, and project follow-up skills
  • The ability to work autonomously in a home-based, field-focused role
