Dalkia Engineering - Business Development Manager


Dalkia Engineering is a leading provider of M&E engineering solutions across the UK, delivering complex projects within healthcare, nuclear, defence, government, leisure, industrial and infrastructure sectors. As part of our continued Southern expansion into the South West region, this role will play a key part in strengthening our presence and driving new opportunities, supported by our Regional Managing Director, Colin Brunton.


We are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to build strong client relationships, identify new opportunities and support the long‑term growth of the region.


What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients to secure long‑term opportunities.
  • Identify, track and progress project leads aligned with company capability and resource.
  • Work closely with Directors to align secured work with resource availability and strategic targets.
  • Implement structured business development processes, reporting tools and presentation materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, enquiries and market intelligence, producing clear monthly reports.
  • Support tender activity, including reviewing enquiries, preparing bid documents and attending bid review meetings.
  • Monitor anticipated and potential enquiries to ensure alignment with estimating and project timelines.
  • Attend internal and external meetings to support business development activity.
  • Support marketing and promotional activity, including presentations and client engagement.


What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in business development within the M&E, construction or building services sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels.
  • Understanding of tendering, procurement and the M&E marketplace.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines.
  • Confident presenter with strong IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong record‑keeping and reporting skills.
