Electronics Engineering Manager

Euro Projects Recruitment - Engineering, Manufacturing & Technology is looking for a Electronics Engineering Manager

Job description

Electronics Engineering Manager

Birmingham | Up to £85,000 | Advanced Sensor Technology

An innovative Birmingham-based technology company developing advanced industrial sensor systems is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineering Manager to lead its electronics function.

This Electronics Engineering Manager role is a key leadership position within a growing R&D-focused business. The successful Electronics Engineering Manager will report directly to the company owners and take technical ownership of electronic hardware architecture, compliance strategy and product delivery.

Working within a small but highly capable engineering team, the Electronics Engineering Manager will shape the future direction of advanced analogue and FPGA-based sensor platforms.

The Role – Electronics Engineering Manager

As Electronics Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Lead and develop the electronics engineering capability
  • Define system architecture across analogue, mixed-signal and FPGA-based designs
  • Oversee schematic design and PCB layout with strong control of sensitive analogue signal paths
  • Drive design for EMC compliance and relevant regulatory standards
  • Provide technical oversight of embedded firmware and version control processes
  • Support development of AMD Zynq processor-based systems
  • Guide FPGA development using VHDL / Verilog and Xilinx IP cores
  • Work closely with quality and manufacturing teams to ensure BOM control and production readiness

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. The Electronics Engineering Manager will remain close to design decisions and product development rather than operating purely at a strategic management level.

Requirements – Electronics Engineering Manager

  • Degree-qualified in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong background in analogue and mixed-signal circuit design
  • Experience delivering PCB-based hardware from prototype through to compliant production
  • Knowledge of EMC design principles
  • Exposure to FPGA development (VHDL / Verilog)
  • Previous experience leading engineers or acting as technical authority

The Electronics Engineering Manager will play a central role in shaping the technical direction of a growing product-led technology business.
