Consultant Gastroenterologist

We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to support an established NHS service.

This role requires a confident and autonomous consultant with strong experience in both gastroenterology and endoscopy, able to contribute fully to outpatient, inpatient, and procedural services.

About the Role

• Deliver consultant-led gastroenterology outpatient clinics
• Provide specialist input for inpatients with complex GI conditions
• Perform and independently report diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures
• Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to service development
• Apply evidence-based practice to ensure high-quality patient care

Essential Requirements

• Full GMC registration with Licence to Practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Gastroenterology (or within 6 months of CCT, if substantive)
• Significant experience in upper and lower GI endoscopy
• Ability to work independently at consultant level
• Strong clinical judgement and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience in advanced endoscopy procedures
• Involvement in audit, research, or service development
