Job description

London | Elite Global Firm | Tier 1 Insurance M&A Platform

A standout opportunity to join the market-leading Corporate Insurance team of an elite global law firm in London.

This is a genuinely specialist platform advising major global insurers, reinsurers, brokers and private equity sponsors on sophisticated, high-value UK and cross-border transactions.

The Practice

The team combines top-tier M&A execution with deep sector immersion in insurance and financial institutions. Work regularly includes:

  • Public and private M&A involving insurers, MGAs and intermediaries
  • Cross-border acquisitions and disposals within the Lloyd’s and wider London Market
  • Strategic investments and joint ventures in regulated entities
  • Part VII transfers and complex insurance business reorganisations
  • Capital structuring and regulatory-driven transactions

Clients include leading international carriers, specialty insurers and financial sponsor-backed platforms. Matters are often multi-jurisdictional, technically demanding and commercially strategic.

With leadership bringing extensive experience across complex corporate transactions and sector-focused advisory work, associates benefit from exposure not just to execution but to the broader commercial and regulatory dynamics shaping the insurance industry.

The Opportunity

  • Lean deal teams with early responsibility
  • High levels of partner access and meaningful client contact
  • A blend of headline transactions and technically intricate sector work
  • Strong collaboration across corporate and regulatory practices

This is an ideal move for an associate looking to step into a premium, insurance-focused M&A practice within a truly global environment.

Candidate Profile

  • 2–5 PQE from a leading UK, US or international firm
  • Strong private M&A training, ideally with exposure to financial institutions or regulated sectors
  • Technically confident with excellent drafting skills
  • Commercially sharp and keen to build long-term sector expertise

Why Consider This Move?

  • Market-leading compensation
  • Consistent flow of high-quality, cross-border work
  • Clear progression within an established, growing London platform
  • Collegiate culture within a high-performing, ambitious team

For associates seeking genuine specialism, strong progression and exposure to market-leading insurance transactions, this represents a compelling next step.
