Electronics Engineer – Optical Systems

Yeovil | Hybrid Working | Up to £75,000

This isn’t another incremental electronics role.

You’ll be joining a high-growth defence technology SME delivering advanced sensing hardware for next-generation platforms. The programme is long-term, well-funded and partnered with a major defence OEM - with cutting-edge AI capability being deployed at the edge.

Your focus will be electronics design and integration for optical systems used in demanding environments where performance, reliability and precision matter.

What you’ll be working on

• Electronics design and development supporting optical / electro-optical hardware
• Analogue and digital circuit design for sensing systems
• Hardware integration and validation
• Supporting environmental and performance testing
• Collaborating closely with mechanical, firmware and AI/software teams

What you’ll bring

• Experience designing electronics for optical or electro-optical systems
• Strong analogue and mixed-signal design capability
• Experience with sensors, imaging systems or precision electronics
• Comfortable working in regulated or defence environments
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance
