Alongside our core construction services, we have a growing waste management business expanding across the Southwest and Wales.

We are seeking Site Engineers to join our Civil Engineering team, based in the South West. Reporting to a Senior Engineer, the Site Engineer is responsible for setting out works; creating as-built surveys; completing quality check sheets and liaising with the sub-contractors/workforce. They are likely to be the main technical adviser on site.


RESPONSIBILITIES


General:

  • Have high standards for implementing safety, quality and environmental including method statement briefings, site specific inductions and associated paperwork.


Planning and Monitoring of your section of works

  • Involved in selection of plant and materials including take offs, procurement schedules, requisitions and recorded receipts on site
  • Plant and material returns weekly when required
  • Record daily diary of works on your section of site.


Provide for Accurate Setting Out and Control

  • Check accuracy of engineers plans, drawings and quantities
  • Establish accurate and clear setting out on the ground that site operatives can work to.
  • Communicate clearly to the operatives what the setting out is and how it should be used.


Permits

  • Undertake CAT and Genny scans for your section of work
  • Write Permit to Dig for your section of work


Quality systems.

  • Complete quality checksheets as required for your section of works, ensuring all parties sign the relevant sections.
  • Ensure all materials used in or for construction of the Works are in accordance with the Specification.
  • Record as-built information and collate in Auto CAD.


HSE Systems

  • Observe relevant statutory provisions.
  • Implement the company’s procedures for dealing with sub-contractors.
  • Provide input to risk assessments and method statements.


Other

  • Manage the Assistant Site Engineers, chainmen, Industrial trainees and summer students
  • Build Relationships with your team and the client's representative.

  • UK Highways Experience
