Socode are working with a Cambridge-based medical device company who are looking for a Contract Laboratory Technician to support their clinical testing team on a 3-month contract.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll be preparing biological tissue, setting up test rigs, keeping the lab organised and making sure everything runs safely and smoothly. It’s very much a sleeves-rolled-up position.
You’ll be based on-site in Cambridge 5 days per week.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing and handling animal tissue for testing
- Setting up and clearing down lab test environments
- Supporting engineers during structured test sessions
- Maintaining lab cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Managing day-to-day lab health & safety
- Organising equipment, consumables and biological materials
What they’re looking for
- Background in biomedical, bioengineering, mechanical engineering or similar
- Hands-on lab experience (degree projects, internships or industry)
- Comfortable working with biological tissues
- Strong awareness of lab hygiene and safety
- Practical, reliable and happy working on-site full-time
