Technical Manager – Potato Storage & Sprout Control 

Location: Home-based / Yorkshire Office 

Reporting to: Head of Technical

Our innovative solutions combine science, technology, and practical expertise to support growers and the wider fresh produce industry. 

 

The Role 

We’re looking for a hands-on technical expert to lead our knowledge of potato storage, sprout control, and ethylene-based solutions. You’ll provide advice, run trials, support product development, and act as a key technical resource for customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. This is a hybrid role with UK and international travel, offering a mix of fieldwork, technical development, and strategic input. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Provide expert guidance on potato storage, sprout control, and Restrain products 
  • Design, run, and document storage trials to support product performance and development 
  • Oversee external trial partners to ensure high-quality, accurate results 
  • Support product innovation with field insights and technical evaluation 
  • Identify new opportunities for Restrain technologies and applications 
  • Represent the company at industry events, open days, and customer meetings 
  • Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging technologies 

 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Strong technical knowledge of potato storage, post-harvest physiology, or related agronomy fields 
  • Experience in trials, data analysis, and product development 
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues clearly 
  • Commercially aware and able to work independently and collaboratively 
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and internationally
