Electronic Engineer

KO2’s client, an innovative electronic product development company based in St Albans, is seeking a hands-on Electronics Engineer to strengthen their technical validation and optimise hardware design.
This is a practical, engineering-led role focused on robustness, validation, and technical improvement — ideal for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of schematics, test data, and solving real-world performance.
The Role
As an Electronics Engineer, you will act as the technical bridge between product vision and supplier delivery. You’ll review, validate and challenge electronic designs — ensuring they are robust, optimised from both performance and regulatory perspectives.
Core Responsibilities
- Review schematics and PCB layouts for risk, robustness, and optimisation opportunities
- Validate LED drivers, battery systems, power stages, and microcurrent circuits
- Establish structured validation plans and repeatable test procedures
- Build simple test rigs and fixtures to measure real-world performance
Experience & Skills
- 4+ years hands-on electronics engineering experience
- Strong knowledge PCB designs, layouts and schematics
- Strong understanding of LED drive circuits, constant current regulation, and low power electronics
- Experience reviewing Li-ion charging and protection circuits
- Confident using oscilloscope, multimeter, and standard lab equipment
- Comfortable interpreting technical documentation and component datasheets
- Able to convert technical analysis into clear, practical engineering recommendations
- Mandarin speaking is desirable
