Senior Public Health Engineer - Manchester
A leading UK engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Public Health Engineer to join its established Manchester team. As a Senior Public Health Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality design solutions across a variety of project types and scales. You’ll contribute to multidisciplinary teams, support client relationships, and help drive repeat and new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide detailed, coordinated and cost‑effective public health design solutions for a wide range of clients.
- Produce specifications, calculations and technical reports with clarity and accuracy.
- Design above‑ and below‑ground drainage systems, rainwater and roof drainage, hot and cold‑water services, and fire suppression systems in line with standards, budgets and deadlines.
- Attend design team meetings, client meetings and undertake site inspections.
- Manage your own workload and, where required, lead smaller projects with minimal supervision.
- Respond effectively to multiple tasks and tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
About You
- Proven experience as a Public Health Engineer or in a closely related building services role, with a track record of delivering complex projects.
- Strong understanding of drainage services, including rainwater and domestic water systems.
- Proficient in relevant design software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with applicable British Standards.
- Experience working within a consultancy environment.
- A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently when required.
