Job description
Criterion Capital is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead and deliver structural design across redevelopment, refurbishment, adaptation, and new-build projects. The role requires a technically strong engineer who can undertake structural analysis and calculations, produce detailed design documentation, and ensure full compliance with UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes, and British Standards. The successful candidate will work closely with architects, building services engineers, and project teams to coordinate structural solutions and support projects from planning through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out structural design, analysis, and calculations for redevelopment, refurbishment, adaptations, and new build components.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications and technical reports for planning, tender, and construction stages.
- Ensure all design work complies with UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes, and relevant British Standards.
- Coordinate structural designs with architectural, building services, and other engineering disciplines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years’ post-graduate experience in structural design (UK experience mandatory).
- Strong understanding of Eurocodes, UK standards, and Building Regulations.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Revit, Tekla, MasterSeries, Robot, ETABS, TEDDS, AutoCAD).
- Experience with redevelopment, refurbishment or adaptive reuse projects.
- Chartered (e.g., IStructE, ICE).
