Python Developer (Junior-Mid) - Global Fixed Income Trading Desk

Our client, a leading global trading firm, is seeking a talented Junior–Mid Level Python Developer to join its Global Fixed Income desk in London. The successful candidate will work closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and technologists to design, build, and enhance tools that support pricing, risk management, and trading workflows across global rates and credit markets.

This is a front-office role offering direct exposure to trading strategies, market data, and real-time decision-making systems within a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based tools supporting pricing, analytics, and risk management across fixed income products (rates, government bonds, credit, and derivatives).
• Build and optimise data pipelines for real-time and historical market data processing.
• Partner closely with traders and quants to translate trading requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of existing trading systems.
• Contribute to automation initiatives aimed at enhancing trading efficiency and reducing operational risk.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices in testing, documentation, and deployment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–4 years of professional experience in Python development.
• Strong proficiency in Python, including pandas, NumPy, and object-oriented programming principles.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform in a fast-paced trading environment.
