Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solar Technical Auditor / Electric Qualified Supervisor to join our fast-growing renewables team.
This is a full-time, field-based role responsible for conducting technical audits, inspections, and site surveys to ensure Solar PV and Battery Storage installations comply with:
- Internal company procedures
- Client requirements
- Industry regulations
- Electrical safety standards
You will play a critical role in maintaining quality assurance standards, identifying risks, ensuring technical compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across our renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical audits of Solar PV and Battery Storage installations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry best practices, and electrical standards (including BS 7671).
- Identify technical defects, safety hazards, or performance issues.
- Produce detailed audit reports with clear corrective action recommendations.
- Monitor remediation actions and ensure closure of audit findings.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive audit documentation and records.
- Collaborate with installation teams, engineers, and project managers to resolve non-conformances.
- Support training and mentoring of installation teams on quality and compliance requirements.
- Review technical drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
- Stay up to date with developments in solar technology, battery storage systems, and regulatory frameworks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends and recurring issues.
Experience & Skills – Essential
- Proven experience in Solar PV and renewable energy system installation.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical standards and safety guidelines.
- Experience conducting inspections, testing, or quality assurance checks.
- Ability to manage multiple audits independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
- Full UK Driving License.
Essential / Mandatory Qualifications
- 18th Edition (BS 7671)
- Level 3 Test & Inspect or Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services (Initial Verification)
- Level 3 EESS (Electrical Energy Storage Systems – Battery Storage)
- Level 3 Award in Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Previous experience in auditing or inspection roles.
- Experience using audit or inspection software.
- Strong documentation review and report writing skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and system schematics.
