Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solar Technical Auditor / Electric Qualified Supervisor to join our fast-growing renewables team.

This is a full-time, field-based role responsible for conducting technical audits, inspections, and site surveys to ensure Solar PV and Battery Storage installations comply with:


  • Internal company procedures
  • Client requirements
  • Industry regulations
  • Electrical safety standards


You will play a critical role in maintaining quality assurance standards, identifying risks, ensuring technical compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across our renewable energy projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical audits of Solar PV and Battery Storage installations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry best practices, and electrical standards (including BS 7671).
  • Identify technical defects, safety hazards, or performance issues.
  • Produce detailed audit reports with clear corrective action recommendations.
  • Monitor remediation actions and ensure closure of audit findings.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive audit documentation and records.
  • Collaborate with installation teams, engineers, and project managers to resolve non-conformances.
  • Support training and mentoring of installation teams on quality and compliance requirements.
  • Review technical drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
  • Stay up to date with developments in solar technology, battery storage systems, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends and recurring issues.


Experience & Skills – Essential

  • Proven experience in Solar PV and renewable energy system installation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical standards and safety guidelines.
  • Experience conducting inspections, testing, or quality assurance checks.
  • Ability to manage multiple audits independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
  • Full UK Driving License.


Essential / Mandatory Qualifications

  • 18th Edition (BS 7671)
  • Level 3 Test & Inspect or Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services (Initial Verification)
  • Level 3 EESS (Electrical Energy Storage Systems – Battery Storage)
  • Level 3 Award in Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent


Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Previous experience in auditing or inspection roles.
  • Experience using audit or inspection software.
  • Strong documentation review and report writing skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and system schematics.
