The Royal Hospital Chelsea is home to the Chelsea Pensioners – retired soldiers who receive both sheltered accommodation and full nursing care in a community built on camaraderie, dignity, and respect.

We are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join our Health & Wellbeing team, helping to deliver exceptional care and lead by example in upholding our core values:

What you will be doing:

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the wellbeing of our Pensioners, including:

  • Leading by example in delivering high-quality personal care
  • Supporting and mentoring junior care staff
  • Promoting dignity, independence, and individual choice
  • Contributing to social activities and supporting the Activities Team
  • Maintaining accurate care plan records
  • Reporting on wellbeing and liaising with the wider care team

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a care setting, ideally with older people
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience or willingness to support medication administration
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills
  • Understanding of good care principles and CQC standards
  • Commitment to working towards or holding a Care Certificate or equivalent
