Senior Electronic Engineer

Lynx Recruitment is looking for a Senior Electronic Engineer

Job description

Senior Electronics Engineer

Devon (Hybrid) | Up to £62,000 DOE | Permanent | Half-day Fridays

The Opportunity

Are you a Senior Electronics Engineer looking for a role where your work genuinely matters? We are working exclusively with a well-established UK defence and maritime technology business - around 500 people - who develop advanced naval protection and undersea surveillance systems deployed by navies across the globe.

Based in Devon with hybrid and flexible working, this is a rare opportunity to take technical ownership of complex electro-mechanical systems in a specialist, mission-driven environment - without the pace and pressure of a large prime contractor.

The South West is one of the best places in the UK to live and work. With easy access to Dartmoor, the Jurassic Coast, and a lower cost of living than London or Bristol, this role is particularly well suited to engineers considering relocation. Exeter is well connected by rail and road and has a growing engineering community.

The Role

You will take ownership of electrical and electronic engineering delivery across a range of electro-mechanical systems, working within a small, specialist multi-disciplinary team. You will be expected to operate at a senior level throughout the full product lifecycle - from requirements capture through to acceptance and beyond.

Day to day you will be:

  • Leading electrical and electronic design and development of electro-mechanical systems
  • Delivering full lifecycle engineering from requirements decomposition through to acceptance and user sign-off
  • Providing technical support and leadership within a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of junior engineers
  • Supporting and facilitating design reviews and approvals to business and industry standards
  • Contributing to manufacturing drawings, schematics, CAD models and technical reports
  • Supporting products through manufacturing, assembly, installation and service life
  • Contributing to bids and proposals, including customer and supplier interfacing

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong analogue and digital design skills
  • Full lifecycle experience from requirements decomposition through to acceptance on multi-disciplinary programmes
  • Experience in the design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience of requirements capture, analysis, V&V and configuration management
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

The Package

  • Up to £62,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Half-day Fridays
  • 25 days annual leave plus buy and sell options
  • Up to 16 days flexi leave accrual
  • Private medical health insurance
  • Group Pension Plan - up to 7% employer contribution
  • All-staff bonus scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Life assurance
  • Free onsite parking and onsite facilities
