Job description

We are working with an established and expanding mechanical contractor here in London who are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.


Operating across large-scale developments throughout London, our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical building services installations. Due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline, they are now looking to appoint a commercially aware and proactive Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the commercial management of their projects.


This position will involve taking commercial ownership of mechanical packages from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial control.


Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the commercial aspects of mechanical packages on residential developments
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
  • Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Preparing valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
  • Managing variations, change control, and contract administration
  • Monitoring project costs and reporting on financial performance
  • Supporting project teams with commercial advice and risk management
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams on commercial matters


Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience on residential or mixed-use developments
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
  • Good cost control, negotiation, and financial reporting skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management ability
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction
