Electrical Engineer

The Sterling Choice is looking for a Electrical Engineer

Job description

I’m looking for a hands-on Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a tight-knit team. In this role, you aren’t just a number; you’re the person who keeps the wheels turning.

If you enjoy a mix of troubleshooting, planned maintenance (PPM), and getting stuck into specialist machinery, you’ll fit right in. The work is in the fast-paced world of FMCG manufacturing, which means no two shifts are the same.

One hour you might be programming a PLC, and the next, you’re using your diagnostic skills to solve a complex breakdown.

What’s in it for you?

It's important that engineers are looked after, so I’ve put together a benefits package that actually supports you and your family:

  • Great Pay: Weekly pay with annual earnings up to £60,500, plus extra overtime if you want it.
  • Health First: Private medical insurance (for you and your partner/family), dental cover, and a health cash plan.
  • Wellbeing Support: 24/7 online GP, mental health support, and "get fit" programmes.
  • Future Security: Life assurance (2x salary), pension guidance, and the chance to join a Share Incentive Plan—so when the business succeeds, you do too.
  • The Perks: Discounts on retail, gyms, and company products.

The Nitty Gritty

  • The Shift: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM (Nights) on a 4 on, 4 off pattern. Great for those who love having blocks of time off.
  • The Work: Installing and maintaining electro-mechanical plant equipment, fault finding, PLC work, and promoting a lean, safe working environment.

Are you the one?

I’m looking for someone who is electrically biased and ready to roll their sleeves up. You’ll need:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or factory environment.
  • A solid understanding of PLCs, motors, and pneumatics.
  • A "safety first" mindset - I want everyone going home safe at the end of the shift.
  • Great communication skills and a team-player attitude.

Bonus points if you have:

  • 17th or 18th Edition (training can be provided if not!).
  • A completed apprenticeship or HNC/HND.

If this role ticks majoirty of your boxes, and looking for a change - reach out via email or call on 01733391515.
