Senior BMS & Smart Buildings Consultant | Leading Global Consultancy (Confidential)

Ready to make buildings smarter, greener and more efficient?

We're supporting a global consultancy expanding its digital‑built‑environment team and looking for an experienced BMS / Smart Buildings Consultant to join their growing practice.

What you’ll do

• Lead workstreams across digital, smart‑building and optimisation projects
• Review and improve existing BMS to enhance energy and operational performance
• Develop control philosophies, sequences of operation and system integration strategies
• Analyse BMS trend data to uncover inefficiencies and optimisation opportunities
• Provide specialist input across new‑build and retrofit smart‑building programmes
• Collaborate with clients, vendors and multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to thought leadership and technical strategy within the Smart Buildings team

What you’ll bring

• Strong background in BMS design, configuration and performance optimisation
• Understanding of HVAC controls, metering, lighting and building‑systems integration
• Knowledge of key protocols (BACnet, Modbus, KNX, MQTT, APIs etc.)
• Experience using BMS analytics tools (Niagara, Trend IQVision, EcoStruxure)
• Awareness of OT cybersecurity in smart‑building environments
• Engineering degree or equivalent

Nice to have

• Smart Building project experience (UK preferred)
• Energy‑services / building‑performance background
• Familiarity with IPMVP, M&V processes, FDD or CAFM platforms
