Solar PV Electrician (Domestic) - South West (Field Based) - Solar Panels O&M - £45k + Benefits + Company Vehicle


Job Title: Solar PV Electrician - Service and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Gloucester based with regular travel across the South West

Salary: £45k + Company Vehicle + Package

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday


A growing renewable energy company is looking to appoint a Solar PV Service and Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance and performance of domestic rooftop solar systems across the South West.


This is a field based role with regular travel to customer sites.


Key Responsibilities


Maintenance and servicing

  • Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance visits on domestic solar PV systems
  • Conduct system testing and fault diagnosis across solar PV installations and monitoring platforms
  • Fault finding on solar PV systems including inverter and meter replacements
  • Work safely at height using step ladders and access loft spaces when required


Technical support

  • Maintain strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical installations
  • Support operational teams with technical queries and ensure best practice is consistently followed
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, best practice and relevant legislation


Customer communication

  • Communicate technical issues clearly to customers and internal teams
  • Build positive relationships with customers while delivering a high standard of service


Health and safety

  • Follow all health and safety procedures before and during site visits
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks while working on customer premises


Skills and Experience

  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installations or equivalent, or Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Assessment
  • AM2 qualification
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, City and Guilds 2382 or equivalent
  • Experience with electrical installations and basic testing
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the region


Desirable

  • City and Guilds 2391, 2394 or 2395 Testing and Inspection
  • Level 3 Award in Installation or Maintenance of Small Solar PV Systems
  • Previous solar PV experience
