Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Residential Scheme
A leading UK developer–contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team delivering a landmark high‑rise residential project on in London. This is a flagship scheme for the organisation, involving innovative construction methods, complex logistics, and a high‑profile delivery programme.
The Opportunity:
You’ll take a senior commercial role on a development that includes large‑scale residential units, amenity spaces, and associated infrastructure. Working closely with the project leadership team, you’ll oversee the full commercial lifecycle from procurement through to final account, ensuring robust cost control and contractual compliance throughout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead commercial management for a major work package portfolio across the project
- Manage procurement strategy, tendering, negotiation, and subcontractor appointment
- Oversee cost planning, forecasting, value engineering, and risk management
- Ensure accurate reporting, CVRs, and alignment with project financial targets
- Administer contracts and manage change control processes
- Mentor junior QS team members and contribute to wider commercial strategy
- Work collaboratively with design, construction, and client teams to maintain programme and budget alignment
About You:
- Proven experience as a Senior QS on large‑scale residential or mixed‑use developments
- Strong understanding of high‑rise construction and complex urban logistics
- Confident in procurement, cost management, and contract administration
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a high‑performing team
- Degree‑qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline; chartership desirable
