Private Client Solicitor/Deputy Head of Department

Up to £65k

Stockport

Hybrid work available after probation

Position Overview

As a Private Client Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload including wills, probate, lasting

powers of attorney, and estate planning. You will provide clear, compassionate legal advice to

clients while ensuring legal compliance and exceptional service delivery. This role is suited to an

experienced solicitor with a passion for private client work and excellent client care skills.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

 Manage a caseload of private client matters from instruction to completion

 Draft wills, trusts, and lasting powers of attorney

 Administer estates including applying for Grants of Probate/Letters of Administration

 Advise clients on inheritance tax, care fee planning, and estate structures

 Maintain accurate case records and documentation

 Work collaboratively with colleagues and assist in mentoring junior team members

 Ensure compliance with SRA and firm policies at all times

 Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service

Required Skills & Qualifications

 Qualified solicitor (ideally 3+ years PQE) with experience in private client matters

 Solid knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures

 STEP qualified or willingness to work towards it desirable

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines

 Empathetic and client-focused approach
