Job description
This is Alexander Faraday Recruitment are excited to be working with a leading retail business to recruit a Category Planner for a 12-month temporary assignment on a hybrid basis.
This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment where you’ll support a key product category (beauty) and play a central role in driving commercial performance.
The Role
- Analyse sales vs stock to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Produce trade reports, promotional analysis and insights
- Support SKU set-up, pricing and promotional activity
- Assist with range planning and product lifecycle management
- Manage elements of the critical path to ensure smooth launches
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Marketing and suppliers
- Handle category queries and reporting requests
About You
- Experience in Category Planning, Merchandising, Buying Admin or similar
- Background in a head office retail environment with high SKU volumes
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
- High attention to detail
- Confident communicator – able to build relationships and challenge when needed
- Experience with systems like SAP is advantageous
