The Role
Employers' / Public Liability Litigation Executive - Manchester - Hybrid - up to £40,000
A well-established national law firm is looking to recruit an EL/PL Litigation Executive to join its expanding team. This opportunity offers responsibility for a delegated authority, fixed-fee caseload of Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims for leading insurer clients, alongside experienced colleagues who provide guidance on strategy, liability decisions and ongoing technical development.
The role involves managing a diverse caseload, including Pre-Action Disclosure matters, Infant Approval Hearings and a broad range of EL/PL claims, as well as supporting senior fee earners with delegated litigation tasks. It is ideally suited to someone with a methodical and analytical approach to liability and quantum, underpinned by a strong grasp of evidential requirements and litigation processes.
Key duties include end-to-end file management, drafting pleadings and legal documentation, instructing Counsel and Experts, negotiating settlements, and attending hearings and conferences.
The Candidate
- Prior experience managing a litigated EL/PL claims
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident liaising with external stakeholders, including solicitors and witnesses
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Excellent drafting skills, including Tomlin and Consent Orders
- Experience with disclosure, CRU, medical records review and evidence collation
- Comfortable instructing Counsel, preparing for hearings and attending conferences
- Good IT skills and familiarity with case management systems
- A proactive team player with a positive and professional approach
- Committed to delivering high standards of client care and regulatory compliance
