Cultural Producer (Strategic Development)

Curiosity UnLtd is looking for a Cultural Producer (Strategic Development)

Job description

We're Hiring: Producer (Cultural & Civic Development)

Bristol is preparing for a once‑in‑a‑generation civic and cultural initiative — and we’re looking for someone to help shape its foundations.

Who We Are

Curiosity UnLtd is a Bristol‑based grassroots think‑and‑do tank working at the intersection of art, culture, lived experience, and social justice.

We convene across sectors to explore how culture can unlock human potential and address inequalities too often overlooked in civic and cultural life.

Since 2023, we’ve acted as a trusted civic convener — connecting heritage, culture, and policy with care, credibility, and ambition.

Why This Role, Why Now

The next 6–12 months are pivotal.

There is momentum, credibility, and national attention — but the work now needs structure, alignment, and readiness. This role exists to ensure the next phase is well‑prepared, fundable, and intentional.

The Opportunity

Over six months, you will play a leading role in the development and readiness phase of the proposed UK Capital of Civil Rights for Bristol, working with cultural, civic, educational, and corporate partners.

This is a shaping role, not a delivery role. You will:

  • Develop a shared cultural roadmap for 2026–2029
  • Bring partners together around priorities, governance, and ways of working
  • Shape credible, fundable propositions and a realistic route to income
  • Strengthen readiness by aligning people, resources, and support‑in‑kind
  • Leave a clear handover and learning summary for the next phase

Programme delivery and grant administration sit elsewhere.

Who This Is For

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Work at the intersection of culture, policy, and decision‑making
  • Understand how to shape investable ideas in complex funding environments
  • Are skilled at convening across sectors and building shared ownership
  • Enjoy early‑stage, catalytic work and are comfortable with ambiguity
  • Are motivated by enabling others rather than owning delivery

You may come from fundraising, partnerships, commissioning, cultural strategy, civic development, or impact investment — but you’re not defined by any single pathway.
