Maintenance Technician

Job description

PE Global is recruiting a Maintenance Technician for our manufacturing client based in Skelmersdale. The role is an initial 12 month contract and the rate is £19.50/hour + 30% shift allowance = £25.35 p/hour.

Rotating Shifts:

• 6:00am – 2:00pm & 2:00pm – 10:00pm (Monday – Thursday)
• 6:00am – 12:00pm & 11:00am – 4:35pm (Friday)
• 9:00pm – 6:30am (Monday – Thursday, when required)

Flexibility to work night shifts on an exceptional basis is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Establishing process conditions and performing in-line quality checks
• Monitoring and controlling processes using Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Supporting delivery of finished products in line with cost, quality, and production schedules
• Conducting fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in machine maintenance
• Time served or NVQ Level trained in Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance
• Strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge
• PLC fault finding experience (Omron preferred)
• Experience with servo controls
• Experience working with automated assembly production lines
