Senior Events Operations Manager (Festivals)

Mixtons is looking for a Senior Events Operations Manager (Festivals)

Job description

JOB TITLE: Senior Events & Operations Manager (Festivals)

REPORTS TO: Head of Events & Partnerships

MANAGES: Senior Events Manager, 2x Junior Events Managers

LOCATION: Hybrid (London/Surrey + Work From Home)

TYPE: Full-time

SALARY: £40k + equity scheme

ROLE OVERVIEW

You are the operational brain behind the Mixtons events engine—building the systems, structure and processes that allow our team to deliver bold, unforgettable experiences. From stock and staffing to compliance and comms, you're the one keeping the wheels turning smoothly, while everyone else is on the road.

But this role goes beyond events. You’ll also provide wider operational support across the business, helping keep our house in order—whether that’s managing orders, chasing contracts, or steering special projects over the finish line. If the business has a plate spinning, you’ll be the one making sure it doesn’t crash.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Events Team Management

  • Line manage the Senior Events Manager and 2x Junior Events Managers, ensuring roles are clearly defined and consistently delivered.
  • Create and manage weekly itineraries for the events team, outlining builds, breaks, travel, staffing, and stock requirements.
  • Oversee intern scheduling, rota creation, and team comms—delegated through one of the Junior Event Managers.
  • Extract information from the Events & Partnerships team and translate it into operational reality.

2. Event Readiness & Delivery Support

  • Build out granular operational plans for each confirmed event—timelines, pack lists, risks, stock, people, equipment.
  • Own pre-event logistics—transport, kit allocation, stock movement, staff comms— delegated through one of the Junior Event Managers, and ensuring every detail is covered.
  • Keep execution teams armed with everything they need to succeed, without having to chase for it.
  • Own the process of maintaining and ordering stock relevant to events such as cups, straws, menus, and ad hoc bits required to run effective events.

3. Systems, Process & Infrastructure

  • Design, implement and maintain operational systems—checklists, SOPs, tracking sheets, risk logs, etc. Both online AND physically.
  • Continuously improve internal workflows across the events and ops functions to drive speed, clarity and quality.
  • Own tools and platforms used by the events team to track tasks, logistics and event performance.

4. Stock, Transport & Logistics

  • Liaise with the operations team to manage and track stock requirements across all events.
  • Coordinate physical logistics—transport of bars, POS, fridges, kit and product.
  • Monitor stock levels, usage, wastage, and returns to maintain full visibility and reduce risk.

5. Licensing, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all events are legally compliant—licenses, insurance, permits, risk assessments.
  • Maintain records and trackers for all documentation.
  • Take a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.

6. Wider Operational Support

As the business transitions out of ‘execution’ in the summer, and into planning and other focuses over the winter periods, the role will shift into more top level planning, organisation and partnership focus.

We will review the role again in September to ensure alignment with the business needs.

  • Logistics & Orders – Support broader business logistics, including delivery coordination and fulfilment oversight for trade, event or ad hoc shipments.
  • Contract Management – Ensure partner and supplier contracts are signed on time, stored correctly, and easily accessible.
  • Festival Partner Comms – Once deals are signed, maintain post-contract comms with partners to coordinate executional details.
  • Project Management – Step in to manage or support high-priority or ad hoc projects across the business where process or coordination is needed such as activation design, fixing and planning.

7. Communication & Reporting

  • Provide clear, structured reporting to HQ across all areas—event prep, team performance, stock, issues and learnings.
  • Maintain and communicate the master event calendar with full internal visibility.
  • Support post-event wrap-ups by gathering insights, learnings and data from the execution team.

ABOUT YOU

  • A planner at heart – You love a system, a spreadsheet, a checklist. You live for structure.
  • A team-first leader – You know how to set direction, hold people accountable, and coach for quality.
  • Process-driven, but flexible – You’ve got a sixth sense for when to follow a system—and when to adapt fast.
  • Sharp communicator – You keep everyone on the same page and never leave a thread hanging.
  • Experienced – You’ve managed ops and/or logistics in a fast-paced environment before. Events or FMCG experience is a plus.
