An elite New York law firm is seeking an exceptional Restructuring & Bankruptcy Associate (3–5 PQE) to join its premier London practice.
This role sits at the absolute top of the market. Associates work on the most complex, high-stakes, and cross-border restructuring and special situations mandates in Europe and beyond, alongside globally recognised partners and a truly international client base.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will advise leading financial institutions, funds, and corporates on:
- High-profile restructurings and insolvencies, including landmark cross-border matters
- Special situations and distressed investments across the capital structure
- Complex multi-jurisdictional restructuring proceedings
- Sophisticated financing arrangements, including bank facilities, high-yield debt, and intercreditor structures
This is a lean-team environment offering early responsibility, direct client exposure, and the opportunity to operate at the very highest technical and commercial level.
The Candidate
We are looking for lawyers who are:
- UK-trained and England & Wales qualified, with 3–5 years’ PQE
- Currently practising within a top-tier restructuring, insolvency, or special situations team
- Technically excellent, with a strong grasp of financing instruments and capital structures
- Experienced in restructuring-related proceedings, ideally spanning multiple jurisdictions
- Confident drafters and negotiators with sharp commercial instincts
- Intellectually outstanding, highly motivated, and naturally collaborative
- Professional, personable, and the kind of lawyer clients and colleagues want on their most critical matters
