Our client in Fareham is looking for a Senior Buyer to lead a site-based team, strengthen supplier performance, drive cost optimisation, manage risk and support new product introduction within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Job Description

• Support the daily leadership and coordination of the procurement team
• Support team development through regular 1-2-1s and skills assessment
• Drive supplier performance, risk management and cost optimisation
• Lead supply chain involvement in new product introduction
• Ensure lowest cost of acquisition while maintaining quality and delivery standards
• Promote a continuous improvement culture using Lean principles

Senior Buyer

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Ideally 3–5 years’ procurement experience within manufacturing / aerospace
• Strong supplier management and negotiation background, with a track record of cost reduction and performance improvement.
• Experience in a regulated environment (AS9100, ISO9001, IATF16949 or similar)
• Our client is open to a Buyer who has led projects, mentored colleagues or taken informal leadership responsibility and is ready to step up
• A proactive, improvement-focused mindset
• CIPS Qualified
