Compliance Technologist – Intake

Reporting To:

Role Overview

Responsible for food safety and quality at intake, ensuring that all raw materials are sourced from approved suppliers and meet required specifications prior to release for production.

Ensure all supplier approval documentation is maintained in line with customer and third-party standards.

Manage the QA team on a day-to-day basis to maintain compliance with food safety, GMP, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Intake Management

  • Manage all goods-in operations, carrying out inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Complete EHO and Phytosanitary certificate applications.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding issues or outstanding documentation.
  • Trend, monitor, and present intake KPIs.
  • Issue Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs) where required.
  • Ensure EUDR compliance (effective December 2026), collecting relevant verification and DDS codes from supplier documentation and recording these within the system.
  • Monitor Works Order Best Before Check Reports and request extensions in advance where required.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Day-to-day management of QA team members, including students.
  • Plan and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly QA tasks to ensure compliance with Food Safety, GMP, BRC, and customer standards.
  • Complete sign-off of process control sheets, including packaging checks, verification of date codes, weights, product names, and finished product quality.
  • Support production in an advisory capacity on allergen control.
  • Carry out allergen verification swabbing to release production lines.
  • Communicate relevant intake updates to the operations team daily.

Supplier Approval

  • Ensure all supplier approval documentation is up to date and on file.
  • Assist with new supplier approval processes as required.
  • Maintain records to meet customer and third-party audit requirements.

Additional Duties

  • Undertake additional duties or projects as required by the management team.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • HND or equivalent in a Food Science-related discipline

Desirable:

  • Degree in Food Science or related discipline

Experience

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Food Safety principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Minimum 1 years experience within a food manufacturing QA/Technical team

Desirable:

  • Practical experience in supplier approval and raw material intake processes
