Experienced Screen Printer / Sample Hand

NJ Screen Prints is based in Hinckley and is a leading volume screen printer of garments to retail and trade. With leading edge printing technology and excellent relationships with high street retailers and all the major supermarket brands; NJ is a growing business that is improving turnover year on year. Employing around 110 staff NJ is focussed and committed to leading edge design, quality and customer service.

Providing a ‘speed to market’ product for our customers, the role of a sample hand is to produce ‘hand screen printed sample garments’ with the highest attention to detail, of excellent quality but importantly within set target time from receipt of the request. The sample team are dedicated to achieving this standard at all times.

The key responsibilities of a Sample Hand are:

• Machine set up, screen order determination
• Squeegee choice
• Machine strip down and ink return
• Initial ink colour checks
• Printing of garments
• Liaising with account managers to fulfil customer needs
• Image checks, contact with designers to rectify any issues.
• Initial approval of print and position
• Problem solving
• Small order printing
• Filling in sample header cards with relevant information ready for production, noting any special instruction
• Working alongside the samples administrator to make sure garments are printed for delivery to customers within time scales.
• Communicate any difficulties to the production manager to enable smooth printing switchover to production
