We’re seeking an experienced PCB Design Engineer to support a high-profile engineering programme developing advanced power feeding equipment for undersea cable systems. This role involves delivering complex, multi-layer PCB designs within a collaborative and technically forward-thinking environment.

This opportunity is suited to someone with proven PCB design experience who is confident producing robust, manufacturable layouts in a fast-paced engineering setting.

The Role

You will:

  • Translate circuit schematics into detailed PCB layouts using Altium Designer (essential)
  • Ideally have experience with Zuken CR5000 (desirable; training can be provided if required)
  • Design complex multi-layer PCBs, including high-speed and power designs
  • Optimise layouts for signal integrity, thermal performance and power distribution

  • Ensure compliance with IPC, IEEE, IEC-62368-1 and DFM/DFT standards
  • Work closely with hardware, mechanical and manufacturing teams
  • Contribute to design reviews, troubleshooting and prototype validation

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands-on PCB design experience using Altium Designer (non-negotiable)
  • Experience delivering complex, multi-layer, high-speed and power PCBs
  • Zuken CR5000 experience highly desirable (training available if not already proficient)
  • Solid understanding of signal integrity, power distribution and thermal management
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability and testability best practice
  • Familiarity with IEC-62368-1 safety standards (creepage and clearance)
  • Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach

Why Join?

  • Work on cutting-edge technology supporting global undersea communications
  • Be part of an inclusive, supportive engineering team
  • Hybrid working: 3 days on-site, with flexibility where possible
  • Initial 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension (potentially up to 12 months)
