The Opportunity

A well-established groundworks and infrastructure contractor based in Tewkesbury is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

The business delivers a broad range of residential, commercial and infrastructure packages, including bulk earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads and external works. With a strong pipeline of secured projects, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS to take ownership of schemes and play a key role in driving profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Management

• Full commercial responsibility for groundworks and infrastructure packages.
• Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts.
• Cost value reconciliation (CVR) and monthly reporting.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, variations and payments.

Procurement & Subcontract Management

• Procurement of subcontract packages and materials.
• Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
• Negotiate terms and manage contractual obligations.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and commercial risk.

Cost Control & Reporting

• Monitor project budgets and forecasts.
• Identify and manage variations and change events.
• Ensure accurate cost tracking across labour, plant and materials.
• Provide regular financial updates to senior management.

Client & Site Liaison

• Work closely with Site Managers and Contracts Managers.
• Attend client meetings where required.
• Support dispute resolution and commercial negotiations.
