Position Title: Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical


The Position


As a Project Engineer – Electrical (Senior) in our London office, you will be part of the Mission Critical team with exposure to Mission Critical projects. Reporting to the Electrical Director, you will lead electrical engineering design projects, focusing on multi-discipline environments with an emphasis on electrical building services.


You will produce electrical designs from concept through detailed design, perform electrical calculations, participate in project meetings, liaise with internal and external teams, and mentor junior engineers. Ensuring quality and compliance with NDY standards will be key to your role.

Your key accountabilities


Finance – commercial outcomes

  • Assist in job costing, time plans and fee preparation
  • Plan and balance workload across projects effectively



Engineering & operations – technical excellence


  • Design and document electrical building services throughout project phases
  • Lead assigned projects, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, and ensure design integration
  • Review subcontractor technical submissions and construction quality
  • Conduct construction administration for NDY-designed projects
  • Implement and uphold NDY’s IMS system for quality assurance
  • Identify and promote operational improvements within projects


Client service


  • Manage NDY’s involvement to meet client needs efficiently
  • Engage and communicate with clients and stakeholders professionally
  • Represent NDY at internal and external meetings, including site visits
  • Ensure all client requirements and documentation standards are clear and delivered on time


People leadership & development


  • Interface between staff and senior leaders
  • Delegate tasks to junior engineers and drafting staff as needed
  • Participate in research and development initiatives
  • Provide training and knowledge sharing with graduates and new staff
  • Manage direct reports’ performance, conduct and wellbeing where applicable


What we’re looking for


Qualifications & certifications


  • 4–7 years’ experience in electrical engineering, specialising in building services
  • Experience working on major data centre projects
  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification


Skills & experience


  • Strong verbal and written communication for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration experience
  • Initiative, judgement and problem-solving expertise
  • Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Detailed knowledge of HV and LV generation, UPS, transformers, distribution systems, earthing, protection systems and UTI requirements
