We work in partnership with NHS Trusts, ICBs, and private healthcare providers, delivering safe, dignified, and compliant patient care across the UK.

Due to continued growth, we are recruiting qualified Mental Health Ambulance & Transport Staff for our Thame and Stoke Poges bases.

The Role

You will be responsible for the safe transportation and support of mental health patients, including informal and detained patients, ensuring care is delivered in line with CQC standards, Mental Health Act requirements, and company policies.

This role requires strong clinical awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.

Essential Requirements (Applicants MUST Have):

✔ FREC Level 4 (or higher)

✔ Blue Light driving certification (valid and in date)

✔ Mental Health training compliant with CQC requirements

✔ PMVA / PMBA (or equivalent) certification

✔ Minimum 12 months’ experience in mental health, ambulance, or secure transport settings

✔ Full UK driving licence (Category B – clean or minimal points)

✔ Right to work in the UK

✔ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe transport of mental health patients in line with legislation and best practice
  • Supporting patients with dignity, respect, and compassion
  • Risk assessment, observation, and de-escalation of challenging behaviour
  • Accurate completion of patient documentation and records
  • Liaison with control rooms, NHS staff, and healthcare professionals
  • Ensuring vehicles and equipment meet safety and compliance standards
  • Adherence to CQC regulations, safeguarding policies, and clinical governance

Desirable (Not Essential):

  • Experience transporting detained patients under the Mental Health Act
  • Experience within secure, HDU, or specialist mental health transport services
  • Knowledge of NHS mental health pathways and procedures
  • Additional ambulance or clinical qualifications
