Job description
Housing Disrepair Solicitor (NQ–4 PQE)
Birmingham
£50,000 – £63,000
National Team | Legal 500 & Chambers Ranked | Genuine Work Life Balance
I am currently recruiting for a Housing Disrepair Solicitor to join a highly regarded Housing Management team in Birmingham, due to continued growth and success.
This is an opportunity to join one of the firm’s fastest growing national teams, acting for Registered Providers and Local Authorities across the UK. The team has achieved Legal 500 and Chambers recognition for a number of years and continues to secure appointments on major national and regional frameworks.
The Role
The Housing Disrepair team handles housing conditions claims and has built a strong reputation within the sector, with significant success at trial defending claims on behalf of Social Landlords. As a result, the team continues to see an influx of both pre litigation and litigated instructions.
Your focus will be defending litigated housing conditions claims.
You will:
- Manage your own caseload of litigated housing disrepair matters
- Draft Defences and witness statements
- Prepare cases for trial
- Work closely with clients including Registered Providers and Local Authorities
- Contribute to the continued success of a nationally recognised team
Advocacy experience is advantageous but not essential.
About You
This role would suit an NQ–4 PQE Solicitor with experience in Social Housing, ideally having acted for Registered Providers or Local Authorities in disrepair matters.
You will demonstrate:
- A proven track record of progressing claims through to trial
- A genuine interest in the social housing sector
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different stakeholders
- A commitment to delivering high quality client service
- The ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
- A proactive, team focused and can do attitude
About the Firm
You will be joining a national law firm with an excellent reputation, built on the strength and expertise of its people. The culture is supportive, collaborative and genuinely focused on long term development.
Flexible working is embedded, empowering you to balance high quality work with your individual needs. This team is particularly well known for offering a sustainable workload and strong work life balance.
