Senior Interior Designer

Hamilford Design is looking for a Senior Interior Designer

Job description

Company Description

Hamilford Design, founded by Manuela Hamilford, specialises in high-end creative interior design, encompassing new builds and renovations. Renowned for crafting elegant, luxurious, and warm spaces, the company boasts a diverse global portfolio, including listed residences in London, New York townhouses, large country estates, and commercial projects across Europe. Emphasising a bespoke approach, Hamilford Design creates unique interiors tailored to each client's vision and needs, rather than adhering to a predetermined studio style. Collaboration with an expert team of contractors and architects ensures exceptional quality and innovation in every project.

Senior Interior Designer Full-time

  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in a UK-focused, high-end residential Senior Interior Design role, managing both projects and teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
  • A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and a collaborative outlook
  • Proven project management skills:
  • Leading site visits and team meetings
  • Taking accurate minutes and notes
  • Liaising confidently with professional teams on programme and delivery
  • Identifying critical path items and managing long-lead times
  • Ensuring client sign-off before any changes are made
  • Problem-solving on site alongside contractors
  • Experience in team management:
  • Training new team members and highlighting development needs
  • Delegating tasks clearly and checking in regularly on progress
  • Overseeing timelines and team output across multiple workstreams
  • Proficiency in VWX preferred (AutoCAD users must be confident in transitioning to VWX full-time).
  • Experience using ESTI for procurement and FF&E.
  • Familiarity with managing the interior design budget and orchestrating FF&E installation, including experience of overseeing installs with a team member
  • Ability to independently produce high-quality CAD drawings and a strong understanding of tender documentation, including scheduling and the time required to complete.
  • A clear and methodical approach to the entire design process — from concept to completion.

  • Collaborate closely with Directors and fellow Senior Designers to foster a supportive and inspiring studio culture.
  • Contribute to streamlining studio processes and supporting the overall vision of the brand.
  • Represent Hamilford Design at industry events and support with business development.

  • Work on exceptional residential projects across London and the Cotswolds.
  • Involvement in hospitality design for restaurants and bars in Notting Hill, Mayfair, and Portland Place.

  • Fantastic local lunch spots and studio outings — plus a summer party and Christmas celebration.
  • 4pm finishes on Fridays, workload permitting.
  • Work on Apple Macs, using Vectorworks (VWX), InDesign, and Photoshop.

Qualifications

  • Strong abilities in Space Planning and Interior Design

  • Experience in FF&E selection and specification
